About

Haka Surfwear is empowering those who are most often ignored by the swimwear industry.

Haka Surfwear offers the full-figured, the pregnant mother-to-be, and those with mastectomies a unique online community for purchasing contemporary, attractive and sexy tankini swimming suits, plus tankini, and mastectomy bathing suits.
I started Haka Surfwear because most of my life, I have struggled with my weight and the swimsuit industry has ignored people like me in their designs. Not everyone weighs 100 lbs. Not everyone has a perfect body. Some of us struggle with our weight, some of us have a body temporarily larger because of a joyous pregnancy, but we still want to look good when we go to the beach. Some of us are in the battle of our lives with breast cancer, a battle which has changed the shape of our bodies. However, that does not mean we should not have the opportunity to wear supportive and attractive swimwear while relaxing by the pool or strolling down a beach. All of us in those situations are fighting a battle of a changing body – we are all warriors. And we deserve to wear swimwear products that are comfortable and supportive, but attractive and sexy too.

NPD Group, a leading market research organization, reports that the women’s plus-size industry is one of the fastest growing markets. This group of women size 14 and up is spending $22b on swimwear. We are a powerful group.
Hakasurfwear.com isn’t just another swimsuit company. Haka is the Maori warrior dance and our name reflects our attitude. Our customers are warriors. At Haka, we offer an empowering shopping community to those who are largely ignored by the swimwear industry – the full figured, the expectant mom-to-be, and the breast cancer survivor.
